Never Too Late

“Why did you even decide to run?” was a question I heard countless times after I got elected for Student Council for the first time going into my junior year.

I’ve always desired to become more involved in my school community, but in past years had been paralyzed by the belief that I was not qualified enough. As the years progressed, my fear of regret began to outweigh my fear of rejection. So when I saw Enloe Charity Ball and the efforts of my peers to create change in my community, I was confident this was an organization that I wanted to join even starting in my junior year.

The campaigning process allowed me to evaluate the impact of rejection on my self worth and gave me a newfound confidence in my abilities. I’ve found there’s been nothing but uplifting energy in the few months I have been a part of Enloe Charity Ball. I have met many inspiring student leaders across all grades who are passionate about making a difference and built strong relationships that I could not have made elsewhere. I have also been able to further develop my leadership and communication skills as I hope to inspire others. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of Enloe Charity Ball and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this incredible organization. It is never too late to be what you might have been.
