On the Other Side of it All

Hi everyone! I’m Kavya, a senior advisor, and this is my first year on the Student Council. Even though it’s my last year at Enloe, I feel incredibly honored to join this amazing team. For as long as I can remember, I’ve admired the dedication and hard work that the Student Council pours into making a difference in our community each year.

Community service and giving back have always been passions of mine, so I knew I wanted the chance to experience Student Council from the inside. I’d always heard that Enloe’s Student Council was something special — a close-knit group with a unique approach to leadership you won’t find at other schools. When I saw the election information last spring as I prepared for AP exams, I thought, “Should I join?” It’s my last year, and I wish I’d chosen to join sooner. But something in me said to dive into what I’d wanted since freshman year.

Over the past few years, I’ve loved being part of Enloe’s events from the spectator side — going to Charity Ball, cheering at the kickball and basketball tournaments, and seeing the positive impact of events like Mini Charity Ball and caroling. Everything always seemed so well-planned and meaningful. Now, on the other side of it all, I see the incredible teamwork that goes into creating what the community knows as Charity Ball. It takes a big, dedicated group to pull off something this impactful, and I’m thrilled to now be part of it.

Being on the publicity team has taught me a lot about how important it is to spread the word and rally our community. I love helping to get as many people involved as possible and build excitement around our events leading up to the Charity Ball. Getting to bond with everyone on the Student Council and contribute to something so meaningful has truly been a highlight of my senior year. I can’t wait to help us reach our goal of raising $170K for CASA!
