Enjoying the Process

The day of Enloe Charity Ball is a day that all Enloe students look forward to. It’s the culmination of hard work, fun, and charity — but while the evening is spent celebrating these efforts, being a part of the process is arguably more fulfilling. I still remember my first time volunteering for Haven House Services back in 2021 and being amazed by the fundraising total we promised them. I didn’t think it would be possible, but as the months unfolded, I began to see the process slowly shape up.

I saw events like the chess and kickball tournaments, open mic night, caroling, and hot chocolate sales become a part of Enloe, filling the school with the giving spirit. Students, faculty, parents, and family members were all involved, and it seemed that, during these few months, Enloe was most united. I realized there is no greater school spirit than the one that Enloe Charity Ball brings around.

As my last Charity Ball season begins to wind down, I look back on my experiences with ECB and realize that it has been nothing short of amazing. The late night emails, countless rejected phone calls, and sleepless nights weren’t in vain because they were an inevitable part of the process, of a cause bigger than myself. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Enloe Charity Ball for the memories that will last me a lifetime, and thank you for teaching me to enjoy the process.
