From a young age, I’ve noticed the need to support those experiencing homelessness in Raleigh. I’ve always wanted to find a way to use my gifts and talents to do everything I could to help these people who have less than me. Becoming a part of Charity Ball has been a perfect way for me to help those without access to a safe, clean, and sustainable house. I’m able to volunteer directly within the Southeast Raleigh community to meet this need.
The Student Council has been a very unique and impactful facet of Enloe for the past 20 years. This year, we chose to help support CASA as our local beneficiary, which “provides access to stable, affordable housing for people who are homeless or at risk by developing and managing rental communities.” By the time CASA’s latest permanent housing facility opens in December, CASA will have reduced homelessness by 10% in the Raleigh area.
CASA’s mission to reduce homelessness inspires not only the Student Council but the Enloe student body and Raleigh as a whole. We hope this work inspires you as well as we work toward our goal of raising $170,000 for CASA!
