Enloe Charity Ball has been one of my favorite parts of Student Council. The longer I’m involved, the more I realize the impact we make in the community and the role everyone plays in sustaining it.
In this way, Charity Ball is a lot like the mobile game Block Blast. In this game, you have to place pieces strategically in order to clear the rows, like Tetris. If a piece is misplaced or blocking another, it can all go downhill and end the game for you. Charity Ball is the same. If one member of the Student Council doesn’t do their job well, it can affect the Charity Ball as a whole. Succeeding requires teamwork, dedication, and tenacity from everyone to make it work.
With every piece placed in Block Blast, the game gets more serious and stressful. When you increase your score, the pieces become more difficult to place, the space begins to fill up, and the adrenaline starts to rush. The same can be said for Charity Ball: as we get closer to the deadline for fundraising, the team will need to focus our effort more intentionally to keep everything in place. However, if we persevere, we can reach the finish line and fulfill our promise to CASA.
